An americano is a doubles round-robin where every player partners everybody else once, points are counted per player rather than per team, and the evening ends with one leaderboard. It is the standard social format at clubs across Europe, and there are more apps for running it than there are for anything else in padel.

They divide neatly into web tools you open in a tab and apps you install. The web tools are mostly free with no account. The apps are mostly free to download and charge for something. Below is what each one actually states, checked against its own pages in July 2026.

Web tools: free, no account, no install

padel-bracket.com puts its terms in the header: "Gratis · Geen account · Offline werkt ook" — free, no account, works offline too — with "voor altijd gratis" (free forever) and "Geen advertenties, geen persoonlijke data verkocht" (no ads, no personal data sold) further down. It runs eight formats, handles 4 to 32 players, exports CSV for a spreadsheet, prints PDFs, produces one live share link, and works in eight languages. Of everything in this comparison it makes the most falsifiable promises, which is a good sign.

americanopadel.app describes itself as a "Free Padel Americano Generator App" and runs in a browser, on iOS and on Android. Its distinguishing asset is a set of printable schedule templates for 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 players — the thing you want when the venue Wi-Fi is bad and one person is prepared to carry paper.

padelmix.app requires no account. Its own words: "You can use PadelMix without creating an account" and "Your data is private and secure and stored on your device". It shares live scores by link, publishes spreadsheet templates, and lists nine languages.

padelcups.com is the club-facing one. Its free Bronze tier is "Free to use for small padeltournaments, upgrade when you are ready!", limited to a maximum of 24 players with up to 6 per group, and it offers 13 format variants plus a projector mode for scrolling results on a screen at the venue. A free account is required. Important as of July 2026: its own site announces that the service shuts down from November 10 as the team focuses on its Swedish site. Do not build a season on it without checking.

bracketmaker.app is the generalist — "a free software for organizing & managing tournaments and leagues for various sports & games". Round robin single and double, single and double elimination, 3-game guarantee, Swiss, and season formats, with live online brackets and the ability to "download professional PDF brackets or print them instantly".

Apps: free to download, priced for the organizer

On the store shelf the model changes. The app is free, and what costs money is usually player count, ads, or advanced features.

Padel Americano — Tournaments (Kodeon) is the most reviewed of them: on the US App Store in July 2026 it holds 4.9 stars from 276 ratings. It is free to download, and its in-app purchase list runs from $14.99 up to a $119.99 lifetime premium unlock, with an annual subscription at $29.99 in between. It covers americano, mexicano and mixicano and says it accommodates any number of players.

One caveat worth knowing if you are learning the formats from inside an app: this listing's description of mexicano — "each team consists of three players" playing "singles matches" — does not match how mexicano is played anywhere else. Mexicano is doubles; what makes it mexicano is that round one is random and later rounds pair players by live standings, usually first with second against third with fourth. The comparison table

What "free" hides, and it is not money

Compare these on price and they look similar. Compare them on what happens the next morning and they are identical: the evening is gone.

Every tool above is built around a single event object. You enter names, it generates rounds, the leaderboard fills in, somebody screenshots the final table for the group chat, and the next event starts from an empty form. There is no player identity that persists, no record that Marco has now won three of these in a row, no answer to "are we getting better or just older".

That is not a flaw. A social night with sixteen people is genuinely a self-contained event, most of the sixteen will not be there next month, and a tool that tried to build a permanent ranking out of them would be pretending to a precision it cannot have. An americano is a party format. It needs eight or more players to feel like itself, it exists to mix strangers, and it ends when the leaderboard is screenshotted. A standing crew of four is a different thing entirely. Four people on one court every Tuesday do not need a rotation algorithm for sixteen; they need fixtures that spread the partnerships fairly, and they need last season to still exist.
