A schedule generator does one job: turn a list of names into a set of rounds where the pairings are fair and nobody sits out twice in a row. It is a solved problem, the good tools are free, and you should never pay for it unless you are running events monthly.

What varies is not quality. It is the boring stuff that ruins an evening: whether it works when the venue Wi-Fi dies, whether it makes you create an account while fifteen people wait, and how many players it will take before it asks for money.

padel-bracket.com — the most complete free offer

It states its terms in the header: "Gratis · Geen account · Offline werkt ook" — free, no account, works offline too. Elsewhere on the page: "voor altijd gratis" (free forever), "Geen advertenties, geen persoonlijke data verkocht" (no ads, no personal data sold), and "Geen App Store, geen account, geen wachtwoord" (no App Store, no account, no password).

"You can use PadelMix without creating an account", and "Your data is private and secure and stored on your device". It handles the standard social formats and their mixed versions, shares live scores by link, publishes spreadsheet templates for americano schedules, and lists nine languages.

The on-device storage claim is worth more than it sounds. It means the roster you type in is not becoming a marketing list, and it means the tool has fewer ways to fail while you are standing on court.

Use it when you want a share link for a leaderboard people can follow on their own phones, without anyone signing up.

americanopadel.app — the printables

Billed on its own site as a "Free Padel Americano Generator App", available in a browser, on iOS and on Android. Its real asset is a set of printable schedule templates for 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 players.

Paper is underrated. A printed schedule does not lock, does not need a battery, and can be taped to the fence where all sixteen people can see it. If your venue has bad signal, print before you leave home.

Use it when you want a backup that cannot fail, or when the person running the night would rather hold a sheet than a phone.

padelcups.com — the club-facing one, with a deadline

Its free tier is stated plainly: "Free to use for small padeltournaments, upgrade when you are ready!" The free Bronze plan runs to a maximum of 24 players with up to 6 per group. Above that you pay. It offers 13 format variants and a projector mode that scrolls results on a screen at the venue, which is a genuinely nice touch for a club night. A free account is required.

One important note as of July 2026: its own site announces that the service shuts down from November 10 as the team focuses on its Swedish site. Do not plan a season around it without checking first.

Use it when you want results on a big screen at the club and you are running the event before the shutdown date.

bracketmaker.app — the generalist

Bracketmaker.app describes itself as "a free software for organizing & managing tournaments and leagues for various sports & games." It is not padel-specific, and that is the point: it covers round robin single and double, single and double elimination, 3-game guarantee, Swiss system, and a league or season format, with live online brackets and the promise to "download professional PDF brackets or print them instantly". It has iOS and Android apps alongside the web version.

Use it when your event is a knockout or a Swiss, not a social rotation — those are formats the padel-specific tools mostly do not cover.

The comparison

When a browser tool is enough — and when it is not

A generator is the right answer more often than app stores would like you to believe.

It is enough when the event is self-contained: a club social, a birthday, a work night, a one-off with a cast you will not assemble again. Nobody needs an account for two hours of padel. Type the names, take the screenshot, go home.

It stops being enough when the same people keep coming back. Then the tool's central design decision — one event, no identity, empty form next time — turns from a feature into a chore. You retype the same eight names monthly, you cannot answer "has Marco won three of these in a row", and the leaderboard that felt so satisfying at 22:00 is a dead screenshot by Sunday.

That is not a flaw to fix. A generator that tried to build a permanent ranking out of a rotating cast of strangers would be claiming precision it cannot have. The honest read is that these tools are excellent at the night and blank about the year, and they are right to be.

The padel rotation planner is the one that overlaps with this shelf, and it is deliberately narrower: 4 to 10 players, one court, a session length, and it returns per-round 2v2 fixtures with sit-outs, plus fairness statistics for partner variety, rest and games played. It is a fixture generator, not a points engine — it will not run a format or keep a leaderboard. We built it because the tools above are all built for 12 to 32 players across several courts, and nothing served the five-people-one-court Tuesday.

The printable padel score sheet does the paper job: names, date, venue, up to six match rows, print-perfect, with a golden-point column if your group plays it. The online padel scoreboard scores an actual match — 15-30-40, golden point or advantage, sets, tie-breaks, undo, fullscreen for propping against the fence.

All three are free, need no account, and forget everything when you close the tab. That last part is deliberate.

The honest positioning

Americano and mexicano are party formats. They want eight or more players, they exist to mix people who do not normally partner each other, and they finish when the final leaderboard is screenshotted. That is a genuinely good thing to be, and for that night one of the free generators above will serve you better than we would — we do not build a generator and are not going to.

A standing crew of four is a different animal.
